ARKANSAS

With rising fuel and energy prices, Arkansas’ economy has hit a rough patch. Our reliance on non-renewable energy sources is also fueling global warming. If we do nothing, things will only get worse. Without action on global warming, Arkansas stands to lose 8,630 jobs! (i)

At the root of this economic downturn is our dependence on fuels like oil and coal. Arkansas currently gets most of its energy from coal. (ii)

Heavy coal usage will no longer be a necessity under a renewable energy economy. With a strong commitment from both state and national leaders, we can create new jobs in Arkansas by investing in clean energy.

Arkansas can meet 209% of its energy needs with renewable sources! (iii)

What we need is leadership to get us started.
