PENNSYLVANIA
Global warming has far reaching impacts for Pennsylvania, the nation, and the world, and the economic cost of inaction is staggering. If we fail to take aggressive action to fight climate change, Pennsylvania could lose 42,668 jobs! (i)
The heart of this problem is our reliance on dirty fossil fuels. Pennsylvania currently heavily relies on coal for much of its energy. (ii)
With a strong commitment to renewable energy, we can create new jobs and put Pennsylvanians to work solving global warming.
Pennsylvania can generate 86% of our power from renewables! (iii)
In Pennsylvania, steps are already being taken to combat climate change. In 2004, Pennsylvania set a goal to generate 8.5% of its electricity demand with clean renewable energy by 2025, of which 0.5% must come from solar power.
In order to continue this fight, we need strong leadership.
